How to become a UK nurse

Qualified Nurse

Nursing degree or diploma
1 Year of nursing experience
Hold current nursing registration or a nursing license without restrictions.

Clear IELTS or OET

Academic IELTS with 6.5 in writing and 7 in remaining areas
OET with C+ in writing and B in remaining areas

Start NMC Application

You have to submit a number of documents such as  your CV, Passport,IELTS/OET score card to attend an interview

Complete your interview

Once you have submitted the required documents to ASLR, we will set up an interview for you via Skype or a similar video platform with our clients in the U.K.

Clear the Computer Based Test (CBT)

This is the part 1 of NMC UK registration. Every nurse has to undergo this part 1 exam. We provide necessary CBT training materials as well as the necessary guidance as and when required.

Submit documents for the NMC

 Once NMC receives all the necessary documents, your application will be assessed and a Decision Letter will send by the International Registrations Team.

Submit documents to the NHS Trust

You have to submit various documents to ASLR, which will be sent on to the NHS Trust. These documents ensure you can safely and legally work as a nurse in the UK.
Some of these documents include:
NHS application form
A police check from your home country
Proof of address documents
References
passport
IELTS or OET Result
Updated CV
Degree or diploma certificate
Nursing Registration certificate
Course start date

Certificate of Sponsorship (COS)

In order to apply for your Visa, you must have a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS). Your COS will last 3 years, after which you can be re-sponsored. Following 5 years in the UK, you can apply for permanent residency.

Apply for your Visa

International nurses coming to work in the UK will need to apply for a Tier 2 Visa. Our clients in the U.K. will pay for or reimburse the cost of your visa.

Arrive in the UK

On arrival, we will make sure you are picked up at the airport and taken to your initial accommodation.

Clear Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)

OSCE is the part 2 examination of NMC which has 10 models to complete effective from Aug 2021 and it is the aim of all the nurses reached UK to complete it within the stipulated time schedule given in the NMC guidelines.

Receive NMC Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Once you pass the OSCE, you’ll be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and receive your NMC PIN.
